Choosing golf-irons to suit you is one of the most difficult tasks facing todays golfer, given the range of clubs available,we all want to play at our best but more important do it consistently.

Playing golf with clubs that suit you will increase your enjoyment of the game and help you improve your handicap.

There are two main types of irons available, they are known as blades and perimiter weighted, they're also known as cast or forged.

Cast golf clubs have a cavity back construction, also known as perimeter weighted, They tend to have a larger sweet spot because it puts more weight on the edges of the club face.

These clubs are more suitable for mid and high handicap golfers as they are more forgiving, in other words your bad shots are not quite as bad!!!

Forged clubs are basically less forgiving than the cast version and are therefore more suited to the low handicap golfer as they allow them to control the shot better.

While no amount of modern technology can compensate for a poor swing, it is important that your golf clubs complement your physique and your swing type. Otherwise, your golf clubs may be holding you back. Golf clubs can be very expensive to buy when you are just setting out, but you do have a few options,

Branded Clubs

These are the Nike, Taylormade, Wilson etc. which are heavily promoted and of course tend to be the most expensive.

Custom Made Clubs

These are less expensive and some of the owners swear by them, one of the most popular providers of these clubs is GigaGolf. You can check out their fitting service and their range of clubs hereGolf Irons

Used Golf Clubs

Almost all of the on line providers will have a selection of used clubs on their sites one of the most popular is Certified Pre-Owned Callaway Golf Clubs
